Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture and Culture Committee has hailed the decision to revise plans to impose 20 per cent VAT on static caravans “as a tremendous victory for economic commonsense”. Assemblyman Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, was speaking as he also welcomed the news that the Treasury has revised its plans to impose 20% VAT on static caravans following opposition from businesses and politicians from across the UK. Assemblyman Swann was part of this opposition campaign and was supported by his party colleague and MEP Jim Nicholson, who has made frequent visits to the North Antrim constituency.
