Act now to save forest walks, urges Swann
Mr Robin Swann, the Ulster Unionist Party Assembly member for North Antrim and Chairperson of the Stormont Employment and Learning Committee, has warned of the “severe financial losses which will occur if the Sinn Fein Farming Minister does not implement an urgent regeneration programme to the Glenariff Forest Park walks”. Swann urges Farming Minister to “declare war” on BVD
Mr Robin Swann, the Ulster Unionist Party Assembly member for North Antrim and Chairman of the Stormont Employment and Learning Committee, has called on the Sinn Fein Farming Minister to “declare open and relentless war against the threat posed to the agricultural sector by Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD). Assemblyman Swann is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip as well as a Past President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster movement. Swann asks for resources for ‘legal commons’
Mr Robin Swann,the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture Committee, has urged the Sinn Fein Farming Minister to pledge resources to establish ‘legal commons’, where shared grazing is practiced, Assemblyman Swann, is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip. He is a Past President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster and Past Chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe organisation. Mr Swann has asked the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to make Departmental resources available to enable farmers to establish ‘legal commons’, where shared grazing is practiced, rather than individual farmers having to incur the additional costs of unnecessary fencing. Step up campaign against rural crime, urges Swann
Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Culture and Agriculture Committees, has called for “an intensive and concerted campaign to stamp out the scourge of rural crime”. Assemblyman Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, said that in recent months the number of reported sheep and cattle thefts across the Province has increased, resulting in serious financial losses to the affected farmers and an increased sense of fear in the rural community.
