Swann champions single occupancy cause

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture and Culture Committees, has stepped up his personal political campaign for more single occupancy homes, especially in rural areas. Assemblyman Swann is the current North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, a Past Chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe organisation, and a Past President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster. Mr Swann highlighted the urgent need for single occupancy accommodation by posing two hard-hitting questions to the Stormont Minister for Social Development. Check out Boiler Scheme, urges Swann

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture and Culture Committees, has urged constituents to check if they are eligible for the Boiler Replacement Scheme. Assemblyman Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, issued his call after the Stormont Social Development Minister announced how the new scheme would operate from September. Swann raps DUP Minister over Green Deal ‘mess’

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, has branded as “totally atrocious” the announcement that the Green New Deal will not proceed as planned and that the £12 million earmarked for the scheme will instead be given to the Housing Executive to deliver energy efficiency measures. Assemblyman Swann is an enthusiastic campaigner for the rights and conditions of rural communities and is the former chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe organisation. Action needed on social housing, says Swann

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman, has challenged Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland to ensure that there is adequate provision for social housing in the current Programme for Government. Assemblyman Swann is also Chairman of the North Antrim UUP Association and a Past Chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe organisation. Mr Swann also wants Minister McCausland to give a “cast-iron guarantee that this social housing provision will also be extended to rural areas”. Swann welcomes action on Ballee homes

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Culture and Agriculture Committees, has welcomed the news that the double glazing project for Housing Executive homes in Ballymena’s Ballee development has been confirmed. Assemblyman Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman, said: “All of Ballee estate is included in the current External Cyclical Maintenance (ECM) scheme. “Currently, the contractor is working in the Drumtara area before moving on. All windows needing replaced will be replaced, following the social development minister’s recent directive that all Housing Executive properties will be converted to double-glazed windows by March 2015, subject to availability of funding. “The Housing Executive’s district office is concentrating on older stock throughout the borough for the first phase of double glazing, which will hopefully begin in May or June 2012, Ballee will not be included in the first phase, but will be by … Continue reading
