Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Agriculture Committee, has “warmly welcomed the very sensible decision” by the North Eastern Education and Library Board to reinstate school bus services in the Kells area. Mr Swann said: “Following a questionable decision by the Board to remove school transport without any consultation with the parents and schools affected, I am delighted to learn that the NEELB has reversed this decision. “After being contacted by many parents, I raised concerns with the Board and it quickly became clear that the process and decision were both flawed. “I look forward to meeting with NEELB Transport section shortly to review the provision of services to rural communities and to highlight the impact such decisions can have on families and the sustainability of schools.” Assemblyman Swann, a past YFCU President and former Chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe … Continue reading →
