Boris re-election will boost Wrightbus, says Swann
Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and member of the Stormont Committees for Agriculture and Culture, has praised the re-election of Boris Johnston as London Mayor, emphasising that it could be a “terrific boost for our local economic ambassador, Wrightbus”. Assemblyman Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, warned there had been the very real danger that had Mr Johnston’s Labour opponent Ken Livingston won the election, then the much-needed Wrightbus contract to provide London buses could have been in danger. Mr Swann said it should not be forgotten that Mr Johnson had arrived at the Ballymena factory to unveil the prototype bus which will replace the traditional London Routemaster. The contract to build the new bus for London Transport was awarded to Ballymena company Wrightbus. Twenty-five engineers and a production team of 40 are employed on the project.
