Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assemblyman and UUP Leader, has issued an invitation to new Tory Northern Ireland Secretary of State Karen Bradley to visit “the magnificent constituency of North Antrim and boost business and farming in the region by introducing financial support for a ‘buy local produce’ policy”.
Mr Swann said: “Over the generations, the North Antrim workforce and farming community has proven itself time and again that they are among the best in Northern Ireland.
“Both industries have been hit hard in recent years with job losses and red tape paperwork. I am inviting Mrs Bradley to come to North Antrim and see for herself the excellent reputation which our business community and agricultural sector in the constituency has achieved.
“I have long been an advocate of ‘buy local’ in terms of produce coming out from North Antrim. Having highlighted the value and importance of our Agri-food sector I hope that after visiting North Antrim, Mrs Bradley will assist this ‘buy local’ ethos by making it an official policy to help our constituency’s business and farming sectors,” said Assemblyman Swann.
